The Surfrider Foundation states that, "animal sewage is unsanitary; however, human sewage poses the greatest risk to human health because it has the greatest potential to carry human pathogens. Coastal waters can become contaminated with nutrients and fecal bacteria from sewage outfalls, leaking septic tanks, run-off, boat discharges, animal deposits, and from contaminated ground water."
Humans aren't the only species affected by pollution. Sea creatures and reefs are an important part of the Earth's ecosystem and pollution can cause overgrowth of certain organisms, especially algae blooms, that cause an unbalance in the system.
Forever Salty is dedicated to a lifestyle based on a love and respect for the ocean. Founded by three local artists, our goal is to Promote, Protect, and Preserve the passion we all share for our Mother Ocean.
After finding loads of garbage on the beach and going to Peanut Island with a huge cooler full of beer and leaving with a cooler full of not only our empty cans and bottles but also the many we found floating in the water around us, we knew something needed to be done about the pollution of our local waters.
By creating an awareness of our beaches and coastal ocean inhabitants through our fresh ocean apparel we hope to contribute with beach cleanups, a recycling program on Peanut Island, and more.
Healthy beaches + healthy reefs = happy oceans and barrels so buy a cool shirt, hat, or bag and help us keep our oceans clean and healthy for years to come.

Those of you who have attempted to previously purchase items from this website know that it has been impossible to do so. We have finally been able to fix this problem and have created a new online shop that is fully legit and functioning! We have deleted the product galleries on this site temporarily to achieve a faster loading time and they will eventually return for your viewing pleasure. In the meantime, please enjoy shopping in our new store, where you'll find you can easily custom design your own Forever Salty shirts by choosing both shirt and logo color.
